The conference “Centralized Instruments and Programs of the European Union and synergy with cohesion policy”

The Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in the Republic of Croatia and the relevant bodies responsible for the implementation of centralized instruments and programs of the European Union in the financial period 2021–2027, organized a conference titled “Centralized Instruments and Programs of the European Union and synergy with cohesion policy”. The conference took place on November 11, 2025, at the Antunović Hotel in Zagreb.

The aim of the conference was to present current financing opportunities through European Union programs and centralized instruments to representatives from the public, private, and civil sectors.

The conference was opened with introductory speeches, and during discussions and presentations, participants had the chance to learn more about the new Multiannual Financial Framework, EU priorities, and mechanisms for financing and synergy with cohesion policy.

Representatives from the Croatian Institute of Public Health also participated in the conference: Vedran Odović and Antonija Medur from the Project Coordination Department, as well as Danijela Nordio from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia.

The representatives from the Croatian Institute of Public Health delivered a presentation highlighting key initiatives for improving public health through EU funds, presenting open calls and application methods. Additionally, a promotional corner was set up to showcase the EU health program, provide additional information to interested participants, and facilitate the exchange of experiences.

Through presentations and B2B discussions, participants were informed about the services of national contact points for EU programs, current and upcoming calls for proposals. Panel discussions offered insights into the importance of developing digital, resource-efficient, and defense technologies, as well as biotechnology, through EU instruments. A new website was also introduced for browsing Union Programs and a platform for searching open calls (eufondovi.gov.hr).

The conference concluded with an emphasis on the importance of quality project preparation, partnerships, and dialogue among stakeholders as key factors for the successful absorption of funds from EU programs. Participants were encouraged to follow the official websites of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Fonds and National Contact Points for centralized EU instruments and programs.
